Draft for review by a lawyer before launch (PIPEDA in Canada; other laws where users live). Not yet in force.

Privacy

What we keep

  • Your email, name and (if you give it) your organisation, to run your account.
  • A hashed version of your password: we can never read the password itself.
  • Your watchlist, your licences and payments, and a log of account actions (sign-ups, log-ins, unlocks) to keep the service secure.
  • Card details are handled by Stripe and never reach our servers.

What we don't keep

Your forecasts stay in your browser until you reveal them; before that we only hold their fingerprint. Your private notes on forecasts never leave your device. We do not sell data and we do not run advertising trackers.

What is public

On the proof log you appear under a random public name (like analyst-1a2b3c4d), never your email. If you join a class, your teacher sees your name, email and forecast results.

Analytics (only if you allow it)

Prizume keeps your sign-in cookie and your settings (such as light or dark) in your browser. That is essential storage: it keeps you signed in and remembers your choices. Google Analytics is different. It stays off, and nothing is loaded from Google, until you press “Allow analytics”. “Essential only” keeps it off.

If you allow it, each page you open sends Google:

  • the page address, without anything after a “?” or a “#” (so a link with a sign-in token in it is sent as just its path). This includes which company page you open, for example /c/AAPL, so Google can tell which companies were viewed, though not by whom;
  • the page title;
  • the site you came from (the site only, not the page);
  • a random visitor ID, kept in a Google cookie on this site;
  • your browser type and language;
  • your approximate location, worked out from an anonymised IP address.

Ad features and ad personalisation are off, and Google signals are off. Nothing about your forecasts, your account or your email is sent. We send page views only. Google's own tag also adds its standard automatic events (such as first visit, session start and time engaged); we have switched off its extra tracking of scrolling, outbound clicks, searches, downloads and form use.

You can change your mind at any time. This clears your answer, turns Google Analytics off, removes its cookies from this site, and asks you again.

Your choices

You can ask us to export or delete your account. Entries already sealed on the proof log stay, under your public name, because the log must not be edited.
